Castilla

In the largest wine-growing region in the world, Castilla-La Mancha (which encompasses around 600,000 hectares of vineyards), lies the geographical indication Vinos de la Tierra de Castilla, approved in 1999 to cover all wines produced outside the Denominations of Origin of this region, in any of its five provinces (Cuenca, Albacete, Guadalajara, Toledo, and Ciudad Real). Currently, there are over 600 brands marketed under this geographical indication.
