"
Selectus 2018 is a boutique red wine with a strong personality, born to stand out from the first glance and from the very first sip. In the Vino de la Tierra de Castilla, it combines Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Syrah in a carefully crafted proposal, with maturation in new French oak barrels for 18 months and subsequent assembly in French oak vats.
Behind it is Bodega Los Aljibes, located in the Finca Los Aljibes, at an altitude of 1,000 metres in Chinchilla de Montearagón, Albacete. This environment shapes the character of the wine and helps explain why only very limited bottles are produced, only when the vintage truly merits it. It is a patient approach to working, focused on the essentials and allowing each variety to contribute its best expression.
The result is a red with a distinctive signature, elegant in its approach and highly regarded by critics, with 93 points from Wine Enthusiast. Additionally, its label, created by Óscar Mariné, reinforces that modern and distinctive image that pairs so well with the wine. Selectus 2018 is one of those names that leaves a mark without needing to raise its voice.

Consumption features
Pairing
Selectus 2018 pairs very well with roasted lamb, sirloin steak, and grilled red meats, where its structure and fruit load enhance the flavour of the meat. It can also accompany game stews, veal cheeks, or a good dish of sautéed mushrooms, adding depth and harmony with every bite.
Selectus 2018 is produced at the winery as a craft wine, conceived from the selection of the best barrels of Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The dripping wines are transferred directly to new barrels of French oak, where malolactic fermentation occurs.
Subsequently, the final assemblage is carried out in French oak tubs of 10,000 litres, refining the coupage of the different varieties until achieving the sought-after expression for this wine.
Aging
It is aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation and ageing take place, and then the blending is carried out in 10,000-litre French oak casks.

Bodegas Los Aljibes is an ambitious family project located in Chinchilla de Montearagón (Albacete), a place that, at first glance, seems quite unusual to host a company of this kind. The winery was built in 2003 in the center of a spectacular estate that spans 178 hectares of vineyard—along with almond and olive trees—at nearly 1,000 meters above sea level. The list of grape varieties cultivated by the Lorenzo family there is impressive and, to say the least, unique: tempranillo, merlot, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, garnacha tintorera, petit verdot, syrah, chardonnay, verdejo, and sauvignon blanc. The limestone soils, continental climate, and altitude are factors that promote low yields and optimal ripening, enhancing the quality of the wines.
The winery's exterior replicates a typical Manchegan construction, while its interior houses the most cutting-edge technology. Here, high-expression wines with an excellent quality-to-price ratio are crafted. The wines of Finca Los Aljibes bear the seal of Vino de la Tierra de Castilla. Manuel Lorenzo, the founder's son, is the current General Director. Finca Los Aljibes takes its name from two natural underground water cisterns used to irrigate the vineyard. Another unique feature of the property is its stud farm of Purebred Spanish Horses (in fact, wine tourists can tour the estate in a horse-drawn carriage).
