¡Ea! Manuel Manzaneque Suárez Enólogo y Viticultor is the personal project of Manuel Manzaneque Suárez and his wife Paloma Mínguez. After a decade as the technical director of his family’s winery, the first in Spain to achieve, in 2002, the Vino de Pago (D.O. Finca Élez) designation, Manzaneque decided in 2011 to establish his own brand to craft great wines—hedonistic and fun—with an unbeatable quality-to-price ratio.
With this goal in mind, he settled in the D.O. La Mancha, where he found old vineyards, between 40 and 70 years old, of native varieties such as cencibel (tempranillo), airén, and macabeo, spread across different towns in the southwest of the province of Cuenca, such as Las Pedroñeras, El Provencio, Las Mesas, San Clemente, and Pozoamargo. He also works with winegrowers from other winemaking regions (V.T. Castilla and D.O. Valencia).
All these terruños produce intriguing wines that reflect the enthusiastic vision of their creator, which he shares with us starting with the name of the winery itself. The very Manchegan interjection ¡Ea! evokes animation, excitement, and determination when undertaking a particular action.
