Cariñena

The plant has large, five-lobed leaves. The grapes are large and compact, with big, round berries of black-blue color. They are very rich in tannins and have a high acidity, which gives the wines good aging potential. Due to the late ripening, rough, bitter, vegetal tannins occasionally develop, which is why aging in wood or blending with other grape varieties (such as Tempranillo or Garnacha) is recommended. The wines are generally somewhat challenging; they must first be "tamed".
Weaknesses
