Here originates Can Blau Cuvée Especial 2023, an exclusive edition for Vinoselección of the iconic red wine Can Blau, created at the Catalan winery of the Gil family.

General Information

We are honoured to present, for the first time, an exclusive wine from Can Blau, the estate of the Gil family in the D.O. Montsant. Can Blau Cuvée Especial 2023 is created from a selection of batches of the iconic Can Blau red wine, hence the name Cuvée Especial.

It is handcrafted in collaboration between the winemakers of Cellers Can Blau and the technical team of Vinoselección. Its composition features local varieties Cariñena and Garnacha, along with a contribution of Syrah grapes. It has undergone approximately 12 months of maturation in oak barrels. This is a limited edition highly recommended for those seeking to discover the essence of the unique D.O. Montsant.

The Gil family arrived in the D.O. Montsant in 2003, a renowned saga worldwide for producing excellent wines in Jumilla, but they decided to extend their expertise to other regions, always working with indigenous grape varieties.

The red wine Can Blau Cuvée Especial 2023 (D.O. Montsant) is perfect to accompany dishes such as roast suckling pig or mountain-style rice.

The winery

Cellers Can Blau

Part of the Juan Gil Family Estates group, Cellers Can Blau began its journey in 2003, becoming one of the first initiatives developed by the legendary Gil winemaking family outside their native Jumilla. Located in El Molar and part of the D.O. Montsant, the winery's philosophy focuses on working with the best vineyards in the region, predominantly indigenous. The technical direction of the winery is led by Nuria López Sarroca.
