Petit Verdot

The clusters are compact with small, round berries of a very dark blue color, almost violet. It offers very intense spicy aromas, notes of banana, and pencil lead. It was mainly used with other varieties (using only 10% of Petit Verdot) to contribute aroma, color, acidity, alcohol content, and elegance to the blend, although single-varietal wines made from it are increasingly common.
Weaknesses
It is a variety that requires, for its optimal ripening, many hours of solar radiation, which is why few wineries choose to cultivate this elegant variety.
