Showcasing the elegance and refinement of the great wines of A.O.C. Margaux, Château La Tour de Mons 2020 presents itself as a red wine endowed with depth and liveliness. The result of a coupage of merlot (49%), cabernet sauvignon (37%), petit verdot (8%), and cabernet franc (6%) from a vineyard over 30 years old cultivated on gravelly and clay-limestone soils. After manual harvesting, vinification took place in stainless steel tanks, and the resulting wine was aged in French oak barrels for 12 months. The result is a great, elegant, fresh, direct, and persistent Margaux.
Château La Tour de Mons, originally known as Tour de Marsac, was founded in 1623 and, as is tradition in the Médoc region, takes its name from its owner Pierre de Mons. After multiple owners, in 1995, the institutional group Crédit Agricole and the Caisse des Dépôts et des Placements du Québec acquired the estate and completely renovated both the winery and the vineyard. The winery now features innovative winemaking facilities and a climate-controlled cellar for bottle storage.
Château La Tour de Mons 2020 pairs well with poultry dishes, game, red meats, and all kinds of aged cheeses.
