Red Wine Crianza

In Spain, for a red wine to be labelled as “Crianza”, it must have spent a minimum of six months in wood, and up to two total years of ageing between oak barrels and bottles. The ageing improves the qualities of the wine and increases its complexity and uniqueness. In a Crianza red wine, it is very important to know how to measure the prominence of the barrel to achieve the right balance of fruit and wood.
