Bodegas Valparaíso was founded with the idea of creating modern and high-quality wines. For this reason, production is kept at a very low volume, aiming to produce authentic wines from Ribera del Duero. The winery has the capacity to produce 300,000 bottles annually.
Its journey began in the year 2000 in Quintana del Pidio (Burgos). The facilities are located on a hill overlooking the village and are supplied by 60 hectares of their own vineyards, mostly planted with tempranillo, some of which date back to the early 20th century and are planted in goblet style.
This old vineyard is located near the winery in Quintana del Pidio, while the new trellised vineyards are found in some of the most highly regarded areas of the appellation: in Pesquera (Valladolid) at an altitude of 925 m, and in Sotillo (Burgos) at 825 m. The grapes from each vineyard ferment separately, and the blending is done at the beginning of the aging process. In the barrel room, French oak (25%) and American oak (75%) coexist.
