Fincas de Landaluce Crianza 2023 is produced in Laguardia, at the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria, where the Landaluce family works their own vineyards, from which this cuvée is created with 90% Tempranillo and 10% Graciano. A Rioja Alavesa Crianza crafted with precision, elegant and with the personality of a family winery.
Fincas de Landaluce Crianza 2023 captures the essence of Rioja Alavesa in a red wine that combines classical winemaking with a contemporary spirit. It comes from Spain’s prestigious D.O.Ca. Rioja, specifically the Rioja Alavesa sub-region, widely regarded as the most distinctive and exclusive area within the appellation. Crafted from Tempranillo and Graciano grapes, hand-harvested from the winery’s vineyards in Laguardia, the wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks before completing a 12-month ageing period in French and American oak barrels.
The grapes are sourced from renowned vineyard sites such as San Cristóbal, La Media Legua, Prado de las Albas and La Laguna, where vines between 20 and 40 years old grow in clay-limestone soils. Hand harvesting, careful ripeness monitoring and parcel-by-parcel selection reflect a precise viticultural approach, designed to preserve the unique character of each vineyard and unlock the full potential of these well-balanced high-altitude sites.
Fincas de Landaluce is the family project of a winery founded in 2000, although its roots in Laguardia stretch back much further. This heritage, combined with a modern vision of winemaking, shapes a style focused on producing wines with genuine personality that remain true to the essence of Rioja Alavesa. Critics have embraced this wine, awarding it 91 points from Wine Enthusiast, Guía Peñín and James Suckling.

Vineyard
Description
Fincas de Landaluce Crianza 2023 comes from its own vineyards in Laguardia, in Rioja Alavesa, with vines aged between 20 and 40 years planted on calcareous-clay soils, a terrain that favours balance and concentration of the grape. Located at the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria, these vineyards benefit from a privileged environment for grape growing, where the combination of soil and climate contributes to obtaining well-ripe grapes with character.
