Valle Central

It is one of the six wine regions of Chile, the oldest and the one that accounts for 83% of the country's production. It stretches from the province of Chacabuco, in the Metropolitan Region of Santiago, to the provinces of Cauquenes and Linares, in the Maule Region. The Central Valley is, in turn, divided into four other subregions: Maipo, Rapel, Curicó, and Maule.
Climate
This region shares the same latitude as the Argentine wine region of Mendoza. In general terms, it is warm. The strong influence of the Humboldt Current brings with it, during the day, cool sea breezes that reach inland, and the nights are marked by cold mountain winds. This climate promotes a long growing season for the grapes, a circumstance that adds greater complexity to them.
Soil
Wide variety of soils ranging from sandy, mineral-rich, and well-drained to clayey, marl loam, and granitic rocks in the lower areas, as well as alluvial or volcanic soils in the Maule sub-region.
