General Information

Santa Ema Select Terroir Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2022 comes from a vintage that provides  good quality, aromatic, balanced wines with good acidity. The grapes, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, are fermented in stainless steel tanks for 7 days at 28º C, with a post-fermentative maceration of 3 days. Then, 40% of the wine was matured in oak barrels for a period of 4 to 6 months, increasing the complexity of the final blend.

The result is an intense ruby red wine, with an intense and delicate aroma, with notes of black and red fruits such as plums, blackberries and raspberries and a slightly toasted touch. Round on the palate with very good balance and persistence.

Cabernet Sauvignon, the best-known and most widespread grape in the world, has its origin in Bordeaux (France), where it has been grown for more than 400 years. From the mid-nineteenth century onwards its cultivation began to expand and today we find it all over the world. In the Valle Central of Chile it is one of the international varieties that is best expressed.

Valle Central is the most important and largest wine-growing area in Chile. It is characterised by a temperate Mediterranean climate, with cold winters and dry, hot summers. It extends from the province of Chacabuco, in the Metropolitan Region of Santiago, to the provinces of Cauquenes and Linares, in the Maule Region. The Central Valley is home to a great diversity of styles, varieties and terroirs, and is divided into four subregions: Maipo, Rapel, Curicó and Maule.

The Maipo Valley is the location of the Santa Ema winery, a family firm whose origins date back to the beginning of the twentieth century. This is a winery that is recognised for its commitment to sustainability and care for the environment. Today it exports to more than 30 countries and is now in the hands of the third and fourth generations of the Pavone family, of Italian origin.
