International Wine Challenge (IWC)

The International Wine Challenge (IWC) is the most renowned English competition and one of the most important international wine contests. Owned by William Reed Business Media, it celebrates its 33rd edition in 2016. Held annually in London, at the Oval cricket stadium, where British and international experts blind taste wines from all over the world and judge them based on their faithfulness to style and region. The wines are evaluated in two stages by different panels of judges.

Jury
Expert judges from around the world, many of whom are Masters of Wine. IWC operates with a tiered system of judges, based on a tasting panel usually composed of five people. Each panel has a chairperson who leads a team of four judges: a senior judge, two judges, and an associate judge. The IWC chairpersons oversee the judging panels.
