Conciso Branco 2021 is an exceptional aged white wine produced by Niepoort wineries from fruits sourced from Quinta da Lomba. Considered one of the best vineyards in the renowned Dão region, it is an impressive terroir populated with vines over 100 years old, of varieties such as malvasía, bical, and encruzado.
This vintage achieved a harvest of the highest quality with a notable balance between acidity and alcohol. These characteristics, combined with a long aging in American oak barrels, resulted in an elegant wine full of freshness; a white that expresses the full potential of the old vines.
Niepoort is one of the most recognized winery groups in northern Portugal. Although much of their success is due to the production of Port wines, we must not forget the excellent quality of their dry wines. This is the case with this Conciso Branco 2021, an excellent wine to pair with fish, seafood, and seafood rice dishes.
Conciso Branco boasts a beautiful lemon yellow color.
On the nose, it is very harmonious and enveloping. White fruits, aromatic herbs, and mineral notes stand out. The barrel is very well integrated.
On the palate, its freshness and mineral sensation are prominent. The barrel provides good volume and creaminess. Long and fresh aftertaste.
Niepoort was founded in 1842 by Franciscus Marius van der Niepoort, a Dutchman who emigrated to Portugal with the aim of creating a company that initially focused on the commercialization of Port wines. Gradually, they began producing their own wines by purchasing grapes from small growers, and today they own Quinta de Nápoles and Quinta do Carril in Cima Corgo (Douro Valley), renowned for the exceptional quality of their grapes.
With a family tradition, today Eduard Dirk Niepoort and Verena Niepoort represent the fifth generation leading the winery. Their curiosity about the terroir of the Douro has defined Niepoort’s spirit over the last two decades. The acquisition of estate-owned vineyards, respect for indigenous varieties, and vineyard replanting projects have provided this winery with some of the best raw materials for crafting both fortified and unfortified wines.
