It is a prized variety of red grape, dark in color and very aromatic. Its cluster is compact, and the medium-sized grapes are rich in phenols. Unlike touriga nacional, it produces less concentrated and more elegant wines, also contributing floral and fruity aromas. With early ripening, it has an average yield of approximately 1.5 kg/vine and adapts well to various soil types, tolerating high temperatures.

Sensitive to the fungus oidium and moderately sensitive to mildew.
