Ribeiro

Ribeiro

The D.O. extends through the western part of the province of Ourense along the banks of the Miño River and its tributaries Barbantiño, Avia, and Arnoia.

Climate
Natural barriers protect the territory from sub-Atlantic storms, creating a transitional oceanic-Mediterranean climate, humid, with fairly mild average temperatures.
Soil
The soils are mainly granitic, deep, and rich in organic matter, although in some areas clay soils predominate. Brown soils are abundant. The vineyard is located on hillside areas (the most favorable for quality) and flatlands.
