Ribeiro is a historic area for white wine production, with a glorious past and a very promising present. Alma Carraovejas, led by Pedro Ruiz, has arrived here.
The project Viña Meín – Emilio Rojo is located in the municipality of Leiro (Ourense) and was established in 2019, after Alma Carraovejas found in these two benchmark wineries of the area the opportunity to highlight the uniqueness of Ribeiro's landscapes. The 2019 vintage was the first one they began working on, vinifying each plot separately to preserve the character of the terroir as much as possible. The winery is strongly committed to soil biodiversity and environmental care, as well as reviving old traditional viticultural techniques from the area.
