Rafael Cambra

Rafael Cambra is a winery that was established in 2001, in an old garage in Ontinyet. Later on, in 2008, it moved to the Valencian town of Fontanars dels Alforins, where the winery has 42 hectares of vineyards (12 owned and 30 leased).

The small producer who gives his name to the winery, Rafael Cambra, strongly advocates for minimal intervention both in the vineyard and during the winemaking processes, aiming to create pure and honest wines, with the grape as the main protagonist.

Their vineyards of monastrell, over half a century old, are cultivated on clay-limestone soils at more than 700 meters above sea level, in the heart of the Sierra de L´Ombria. They also work with foreign varieties such as cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc grapes.

In recent years, Rafael Cambra has been deeply committed to the recovery of indigenous varieties such as forcallat, arco, bonicaire, and rojal. With these, they are starting to produce new wines that are sure to draw attention.

The wines from this winery reflect the maturity brought by the sun of this land. They are warm wines, with an intense color, aromas of red fruits, yet fresh, thanks to the location and altitude.
