Professional career
Since the mid-19th century, the Kientzler family has owned and cultivated vineyards in the Alsatian town of Ribeauvillé and its surroundings, but it was not until 1895 that Dominique Alphonse Kientzler, who had inherited the vines from his father and grandfather, promoted the creation of a wine cooperative together with other winegrowers, the seed of the winery that has reached our days.

In the 20th century, his grandson François, after studying viticulture in Switzerland, decided to dedicate himself exclusively to viticulture and winemaking, an activity to which his son André joined in the 1970s. Together, they undertook the restructuring of the vineyard, planting noble vines, mainly riesling, which became their hallmark variety. Today, the Kientzler family's vines cover 13.8 hectares, which, since 2009, have been managed, like the rest of the estate, by Thierry and Eric, André's sons.
