General Information

Kientzler Pinot Gris 2023 is a wine that showcases the most authentic varietal expression of the white grape that gives it its name, one of the most prominent in the A.O.C. Alsace. Thanks to the mild climate and clay-limestone soils that characterize this region, white wines made with pinot gris are distinguished by their body, freshness, floral bouquet, and fantastic aging potential. This last quality, in the case of this single-varietal wine, extends up to five years from its harvest.

At the end of the 20th century, Domaine Kientzler was founded, originally as a cooperative. Based in the town of Ribeauvillé and owning more than 13 hectares of vineyards, 4.4 of which are of the highest classification (Grands Crus), its facilities produce some of the finest white wines from a wine region globally renowned for this type of production, of which Kientzler Pinot Gris 2023 is a prime example.

Tasting notes

Kientzler Pinot Gris is a wine that visually stands out for its golden yellow hue.

Harmonious nose, where fresh and floral aromas stand out.

On the palate, it surprises with its balance and flexibility. Dry and astringent at the same time, with a pleasant fruity flavor.

The winery

Vibrant, complex, classy white wines with great longevity. These are the hallmark of Domaine Kientzler, a fifth-generation family winery, founded in 1895 originally as a cooperative, in Ribeauvillé.

Belonging to the A.O.C. Alsace and Alsace Grand Cru, Kientzler's vineyard spans 13.8 hectares, 4.4 of which are classified as Grands Crus, spread across the villages of Ribeauvillé, Bergheim, Hunawihr, and Riquewihr. Its vines, mostly planted on slopes, include riesling, pinot blanc, pinot gris, pinot noir, gewurztraminer, chasselas, sylvaner, and auxerrois blanc, with an age range of 35 to 80 years. Since 2009, brothers Thierry and Eric Kientzler have been leading the winery, and their splendid whites, the result of top-quality grapes and impeccable, precise work in the cellar, rightfully rank among the finest wines this French region produces.
