Kientzler Gewürztraminer 2023 is an aromatic, fruity, and lively single-varietal that demonstrates that Alsace is the French wine region where the gewürztraminer reaches its most refined expression.

Kientzler Gewürztraminer 2023 is part of the line of single-varietal white wines that represent the most traditional and classic profile crafted by Domaine Kientzler, a family estate based in the Alsatian village of Ribeauvillé since 1895.

Cultivated with the utmost respect for the land, the vineyard spans 13.8 hectares, including 4.4 hectares in Grand Crus, distributed across the villages of Ribeauvillé, Bergheim, Hunawihr, and Riqyeihr. Considered one of the noble varieties of the region, along with the German-origin riesling and the native pinot gris and muscat, its grapes stand out, as shown by this Kientzler Gewürztraminer 2023, for their aromatic intensity and fruity, flavorful, smooth, and dense palate. Enjoy it as an aperitif or as a companion to spicy and seasoned dishes, such as Chinese or Indian cuisine.

Tasting notes

Intense and exotic aromas, with elegant fruity notes.

Smooth, flavorful, and tender on the palate. Long finish with a spicy and slightly bitter touch that adds persistence, elegance, and liveliness.

The winery

Vibrant, complex, classy white wines with great longevity. These are the hallmark of Domaine Kientzler, a fifth-generation family winery, founded in 1895 originally as a cooperative, in Ribeauvillé.

Belonging to the A.O.C. Alsace and Alsace Grand Cru, Kientzler's vineyard spans 13.8 hectares, 4.4 of which are classified as Grands Crus, spread across the villages of Ribeauvillé, Bergheim, Hunawihr, and Riquewihr. Its vines, mostly planted on slopes, include riesling, pinot blanc, pinot gris, pinot noir, gewurztraminer, chasselas, sylvaner, and auxerrois blanc, with an age range of 35 to 80 years. Since 2009, brothers Thierry and Eric Kientzler have been leading the winery, and their splendid whites, the result of top-quality grapes and impeccable, precise work in the cellar, rightfully rank among the finest wines this French region produces.
