General Information

Kientzler A Bout de Soufre 2019 is made from a blend of sylvaner, pinot gris, and muscat grown in vineyards located in the heart of the A.O.C. Alsace. These vineyards are situated on the sunniest slopes where the best conditions for grape ripening are found.

The quality of the vineyard and expertise are distinctive signs of the Kientzler family, which are present in the production of great wines like this Kientzler A Bout de Soufre 2019. The French firm has been working in the wine sector for 5 generations in a beautiful vineyard located in Ribeauvillé. The ‘domaine’ has 14 hectares of vineyards, of which 4 are considered Grand Cru, a terrain where riesling and gewurztraminer varieties reign.

The Kientzlers produce whites with a very marked mineral profile, fresh and fruity like this Kientzler A Bout de Soufre 2019, an Alsatian white that pairs with raclettes, not very cured sausages, salads, vegetables, fish, and seafood, among other dishes.

Tasting notes

Pale yellow color, clean and bright.

On the nose, it unfolds pleasant fruity aromas, along with white flowers and hazelnuts.

On the palate, it is an explosion of fruit, with a round and flexible palate. With well-integrated acidity that makes it digestible. Harmonious.

The winery

Vibrant, complex, classy white wines with great longevity. These are the hallmark of Domaine Kientzler, a fifth-generation family winery, founded in 1895 originally as a cooperative, in Ribeauvillé.

Belonging to the A.O.C. Alsace and Alsace Grand Cru, Kientzler's vineyard spans 13.8 hectares, 4.4 of which are classified as Grands Crus, spread across the villages of Ribeauvillé, Bergheim, Hunawihr, and Riquewihr. Its vines, mostly planted on slopes, include riesling, pinot blanc, pinot gris, pinot noir, gewurztraminer, chasselas, sylvaner, and auxerrois blanc, with an age range of 35 to 80 years. Since 2009, brothers Thierry and Eric Kientzler have been leading the winery, and their splendid whites, the result of top-quality grapes and impeccable, precise work in the cellar, rightfully rank among the finest wines this French region produces.
