Sweet Fortified Wine

In the Jerez region, sweet fortified wines are known as ‘fortified liqueur wines’. According to the regulations of the regulatory board, they are obtained from the traditional practice of cabeceos, which consists of mixing fortified wines with natural sweet wines or, occasionally, with concentrated must. In any case, their sugar content must be higher than 5 grams per litre. In Jerez, fortified liqueur wines are classified as Pale Cream, Medium and Cream, depending on the type of wine used in their production and the level of sugar.
