General Information

Parxet Brut Grapa is a magnificent sparkling wine with good volume and fruity intensity. A cava made from the pansa blanca variety blended with macabeo and parellada grapes from the Alella region, an area characterized by its sandy-textured soils (sauló).

Parxet is a brand with a long family winemaking tradition that began marketing cavas in the early 1920s, but its origins date back to the 18th century. Located 20 km from Barcelona, its name comes from the French term "parchet," referring to the small vineyard plots it works.

Parxet Brut Grapa is a fresh cava from the D.O. Cava that perfectly accompanies fish and rice dishes, all kinds of appetizers, seafood, and light starters.

Tasting notes

Very pale tone with green reflections, very fine and persistent bubble with a tendency to form a crown of foam.

On the nose, its breadth, fruit, and intensity stand out.

On the palate, the aromatic and gustatory balance characteristic of the varieties and aging explodes.

The winery

Winery

Parxet is a benchmark winery in the production of cavas and the most important one in the small D.O. Alella (Barcelona). A family-owned company with a centuries-old winemaking tradition, characterized by its innovative spirit. In fact, it was one of the first brands to market a Brut Nature (1965). The history of Parxet begins in the 18th century, when the Suñol family acquired the Mas Parxet estate in Tiana, starting winemaking activities there. However, it was not until 1918 that this winery began producing cavas.

In the mid-1980s, Parxet merged with another of Alella's most important wineries, located in the municipality of Santa María de Martorelles and dedicated to the production of white wine. Thus, Parxet S.A. has a dual identity: in Santa María de Martorelles, a winery with modern facilities surrounded by its own vineyard, where the base wines for the cavas and the white Marqués de Alella are produced; and in Tiana, the modernist building Mas Parxet, where the bottle aging of the cavas takes place in the underground cellars built in 1918.

At Parxet, they work following the traditional method of sparkling wine production, starting with the selection of vineyards and adhering to the strictest respect for the natural product.
