General Information

A primarily Mediterranean climate with continental influence affected the bobal vines that originate Paloma Mínguez Bobal 2022. The vineyard, 40 years old and settled on well-aerated sandy clay soils with a large amount of limestone on the surface, was worked organically with the aim of obtaining a ripe, healthy, and balanced grape.

Regarding vinification, the selection of bunches in the winery led to a process with cold pre-fermentation maceration, controlled temperature alcoholic fermentation, and subsequent maceration with the skins. Subsequently, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels where it aged for 6 months, resulting in a lively yet balanced red with very rounded tannins.

After more than 10 years making wines in the family winery, Manuel Manzaneque Suárez decided to create his own wine project with his wife Paloma Mínguez in 2011. The aim of this initiative is to produce great wines in the Conquense and Valencian terroir using native vines from the area and some of the most acclaimed international varieties.

Paloma Mínguez Bobal 2022 is a red wine from the D.O. Valencia that captivates with its surprising freshness, notes of red and black fruit, and tremendous versatility. Ideal for accompanying traditional countryside dishes such as migas, pisto, grilled vegetables, small game, country rice dishes, sausages, and cheeses of all kinds.

The winery

¡Ea! Manuel Manzaneque Suárez Enólogo y Viticultor
¡Ea! Manuel Manzaneque Suárez Enólogo y Viticultor is the personal project of Manuel Manzaneque Suárez and his wife Paloma Mínguez. After a decade as the technical director of his family’s winery, the first in Spain to achieve, in 2002, the Vino de Pago (D.O. Finca Élez) designation, Manzaneque decided in 2011 to establish his own brand to craft great wines—hedonistic and fun—with an unbeatable quality-to-price ratio.

With this goal in mind, he settled in the D.O. La Mancha, where he found old vineyards, between 40 and 70 years old, of native varieties such as cencibel (tempranillo), airén, and macabeo, spread across different towns in the southwest of the province of Cuenca, such as Las Pedroñeras, El Provencio, Las Mesas, San Clemente, and Pozoamargo. He also works with winegrowers from other winemaking regions (V.T. Castilla and D.O. Valencia).

All these terruños produce intriguing wines that reflect the enthusiastic vision of their creator, which he shares with us starting with the name of the winery itself. The very Manchegan interjection ¡Ea! evokes animation, excitement, and determination when undertaking a particular action.
