"In CVNE wines, I believe the company's philosophy is reflected. There is a wide range of wines, each with its own character, which are the result of a historical legacy spanning over 130 years, combined with the use of new technologies. CVNE cultivates 600 hectares of vineyards, and the care of these vines greatly facilitates consistency in the high quality of the wines produced. The geographical location of Rioja and its climate allow us to cultivate grapes of great finesse, from which we obtain wines with excellent balance and elegance. Tempranillo is also a variety with great aging potential, which enables us to enjoy our crianzas, reservas, and grandes reservas both when they are released to the market and as they age over the years."
Professional career
He completed his initial studies in Oenology and Viticulture in Madrid and then moved to France, where he spent several years furthering his education in Montpellier and Bordeaux. His first harvest upon returning from France to La Rioja was at CVNE. After working in several wineries in Rioja, La Mancha, and Navarra, he returned to his Rioja roots and has remained at CVNE ever since. Since 2006, he has served as the technical director of CVNE and the wineries Imperial and Viña Real, part of the same group.
