Carmelo Rodero worked with his father in the fields. At the age of fourteen, he was already cultivating the land with the first tractors seen in the area, and after completing his military service, he began purchasing and cultivating his own vineyards. After parting ways with the Cooperativa Vinícola de Pedrosa, of which his grandparents were founding members, he spent fourteen years selling the grapes he produced to the legendary winery Vega Sicilia.
Convinced of the high quality of his grapes, Carmelo Rodero decided to take the step into winemaking and launched his first wine on the market with the 1991 vintage. Since then, his wines have been recognized in various international competitions. A new generation has joined the winery: Beatriz and María, the two daughters of Carmelo and Elena.
