Carmelo Rodero is, today, one of the most prominent names in the D.O. Ribera del Duero. After years of selling his grapes to prestigious wineries like Vega Sicilia, in 1990 he took the step of building his own winery, initiating one of the most remarkable trajectories in Ribera del Duero. Located in Pedrosa del Duero (Burgos), the evolution of Bodegas Rodero into one of the leading wineries in the region is largely due to its most prized asset: its magnificent vineyard.
The careful handling of the grapes is also a priority for the brand. Each of the wines they produce, under the D.O. Ribera del Duero, comes from a specific plot. The enological work the grapes undergo depends on factors such as the age of the vines, the type of soil, their orientation, and sun exposure. A meticulous and measured process that culminates in the selection of the most suitable barrels for the aging of each wine produced. Carmelo Rodero Crianza Mágnum 2021 is the perfect pairing for dishes such as lamb chops grilled over vine shoots or a good grilled beef steak.
After many years of selling their grapes to prestigious wineries such as Vega Sicilia, Carmelo Rodero, the fourth generation of winegrowers from Pedrosa de Duero (Burgos), decided in 1990 to produce his own wines, founding Bodegas Rodero.
Bodegas Rodero has positioned itself as one of the most outstanding wineries in Ribera del Duero, thanks especially to the quality of its vineyards. The exquisite care given to the grapes is a top priority. Each of their wines comes from a specific plot and is crafted considering various factors, such as the age of the vines, the type of soil, its orientation, and exposure. This meticulous work also includes selecting the most suitable barrels for the aging of each wine. Carmelo Rodero's daughter, Beatriz, leads the winemaking direction.
