Professional career
With a long history tied to the world of wine, the Riojan Marcos Eguizábal acquired the Paternina wineries in Rioja and Jerez in the early 1980s. After his passing in 2009, his children Carlos Eguizábal and Rosa Eguizábal took over the management of the company.

Currently, the Eguizábal Group owns the wineries Franco-Españolas (D.O.Ca. Rioja), Valparaíso (D.O. Ribera del Duero), and Bodegas Lacort (D.O.Ca. Rioja). In the photo, Borja Eguizábal, general manager of Bodegas Franco-Españolas.
