Throughout its history, the ownership of the Marqués de Riscal winery has varied, although it can be said that it has maintained its family character, as it has remained in the hands of a small group of families. The Hurtado de Amézaga were the sole owners until the past decade of the 1940s, when they transferred 14% of the capital to two new shareholders, one of whom was José Luis Aznar Zavala, from the Aznar shipping company. Over time, the Aznar family has become the majority shareholder. The current President, Alejandro Aznar, is a member of the third generation.

Professional career
Alejandro Aznar (Madrid, 1961) has been the President of Bodegas de los Herederos del Marqués de Riscal since 1994.
Graduate in Economics (American College, Leysin - 1983) and MBA (Instituto de Empresa, Madrid – 1984). Currently, he is the president of Ibaizabal and Vinos de los Herederos del Marqués de Riscal. He is also the president and founder of Marítima Aznar, as well as the founder and board member of Grupo Seguriber. He was a board member of Banco Herrero and vice president of Banco Inversor Herrero.
