Thyssen Selection 2026: art and fine wines in a unique collection
The Thyssen Selection 2026 brings together six outstanding Spanish wines in the most exclusive Vinoselección collection, created together with the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum. A unique, carefully curated and comprehensive edition, comprising one bottle of each of these wines: El Puntido Edición Limitada 2022, San Román Álamo 2024, Arzuaga Reserva 2021, Protos Reserva 2021, CM Prestigio 2020 and Viña Real Gran Reserva Especial 2019.
The Thyssen Selection 2026 arrives as the eighth edition of this exclusive Vinoselección offering, created in collaboration with the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza. It brings together six exceptional wines from renowned Spanish bodegas, with artworks on their labels that make this collection a genuine work of art in its own right.
In this singular release stand out Protos Reserva 2021, a Tempranillo from the D.O. Ribera del Duero; CM Prestigio 2020, the display of the excellent work that Bodegas Familiares Matarromera is doing in Rioja; San Román Álamo 2024, the exclusive version of one of the great wines of Toro; El Puntido Edición Limitada 2022, a Rioja bearing the seal of one of the great families of Spanish wine, the Eguren; Viña Real Gran Reserva Especial 2019, a Rioja with Viña Real’s elegant style and a very long ageing; and Arzuaga Reserva 2021, the Ribera del Duero that speaks of one of the most significant bodegas in the denomination.
The collection keeps alive the spirit with which it was born: to bring top-tier wines with a first-rate cultural wrapper. El Puntido Edición Limitada 2022 brings together the talent of the Eguren family, one of the great dynasties of Spanish wine, with the personality of a mythical estate in Rioja Alavesa and the artistic force of Jardín en Soest, by Christian Rohlfs. From the heart of Ribera del Duero arrives Arzuaga Reserva 2021 (an excellent vintage), a refined red that perfectly reflects the style that has made Arzuaga one of the most admired bodegas in Spain. Its label reproduces the work Circle Segments, by László Moholy-Nagy.
Born for the Thyssen Collection from Vinoselección, Viña Real Gran Reserva Especial 2019 captures, once again, the great elegance of Rioja Alavesa. Fine, complex and silky, it is a blend of Tempranillo with a light contribution from Graciano with a long ageing of 24 months in French and American oak. San Román Álamo 2024 born from careful cellar work in the D.O. Toro, 100% Tinta de Toro and 18 months of ageing in French oak. An elegant, fresh red with great balance, that captures the most refined character of San Román, one of Spain's great wineries.
Protos Reserva 2021 (excellent vintage) stands out for its excellent balance, depth and power and for being the perfect example of Ribera del Duero classicism. It is signed by Protos, a pioneering winery and essential in Ribera del Duero. Its label reproduces the work Orange Grove in California, by Irving Berlin(1927), by Arthur G. Dove.
CM Prestigio 2020 reflects the know-how of Bodega CM de Matarromera with meticulous craftsmanship and 16 months ageing in French and American oak barrels. A red wine with a pronounced personality, 100% Tempranillo, created for the Thyssen Selection from Vinoselección.
