The new dimension of a classic from the Eguren family: art in its purest form
The story of a great wine always begins in the vineyard, especially that of those that end up becoming a collectable piece. El Puntido Edición Limitada 2022 brings together the talent of the Eguren family, one of the great dynasties of Spanish wine, with the personality of a mythical estate in Rioja Alavesa and the artistic force of Jardín en Soest, by Christian Rohlfs. The result is a bottle conceived for those seeking authentic thrills, exclusivity and the most refined expression of Tempranillo.
El Puntido Edición Limitada 2022 is a wine born from one of the most acclaimed estates in Rioja Alavesa and designed expressly for the exclusive Selección Thyssen by Vinoselección. It represents the philosophy that has made the Eguren family an undisputed reference in Spanish wine: interpreting a unique vineyard to express all its identity through Tempranillo.
Behind this extraordinary bottle lies Viñedos de Páganos, the project with which the brothers Marcos and Miguel Eguren have carried their pursuit of excellence to one of the most privileged areas in Laguardia. Heirs to a family tradition that goes back several generations of vintners, the Eguren have decisively contributed to the international prestige of Rioja, crafting some of the most admired single-vineyard wines in our country.
The wine comes from the historic El Puntido estate, a plot of around 25 hectares planted in 1975 and situated at about 600 metres above sea level. Produced exclusively with hand-selected Tempranillo, it combines the character of clay-calcareous and calcareous-clay soils with careful ageing in French oak barrels. As a finale, this limited edition features on its label Jardín en Soest, the famous work that Christian Rohlfs painted around 1905, reflecting a key phase in the artistic evolution of the German painter.
Exclusivity, origin, prestige and art converge in El Puntido Edición Limitada 2022, a proposition aimed at those seeking memorable experiences. Its inclusion in Vinoselección’s exclusive Thyssen Collection adds a distinctive appeal to a bottle destined to occupy a prominent place both at table and in any wine lover’s collection. Moreover, the 2022 vintage of El Puntido has received notable accolades, with scores reaching 95 points in the Peñín Guide for El Puntido, reinforcing its status as a major Rioja reference. Ideal to accompany red meats, roasts, game and aged cheeses.

The Eguren family has become an institution in Rioja, leading three prestigious wineries in this denomination and creators of the masterful Finca El Bosque, Amancio, El Puntido, and La Nieta. The Eguren family owns Viñedos de Páganos, located in the medieval village of Laguardia in Rioja Alavesa. Here, they produce the brands Calados del Puntido (around 20,000 bottles), El Puntido (48,000 to 72,000 bottles), La Nieta (4,000 to 6,000 bottles), and El Puntido Gran Reserva (4,000 to 6,000 bottles). These red wines rank among the most important on the national scene. The winery is designed in the style of 16th-century wineries, and the wines rest under privileged conditions: in underground cellars carved into rock.
