Mas de Can Blau 2020 is a "must" for Montsant wine lovers. Mas de Can Blau is the high-end wine from Cellers Can Blau, a project initiated by the Viñas Familia Gil (Gil Family Estates) group in 2003 in the D.O. Montsant. At that time, the winery decided to invest in a small, lesser-known denomination, which boasted a rich diversity of soils and allowed for the adaptation of different grape varieties, both native and foreign. Today, Can Blau is a flagship winery of this denomination of origin, and its wines are featured on the menus of the finest restaurants.
The structure and power of Mas de Can Blau 2020, under the D.O. Montsant, pair perfectly with red meats, game stews, rice dishes, roasts, stews, marmitako, ham, and cured and blue cheeses.
Mas de Can Blau presents an intense cherry color with garnet rim. Powerful aroma of ripe fruits and roasted notes, maintaining a balance between the warm notes of macerated fruit and the memory of terruño. On the palate, it is full, fleshy, and powerful, concentrated and tasty but not excessive, with an elegant, broad, and persistent finish, well-structured regarding its aging in oak, crafted to appeal both to the trained taster and general consumers.
Part of the Juan Gil Family Estates group, Cellers Can Blau began its journey in 2003, becoming one of the first initiatives developed by the legendary Gil winemaking family outside their native Jumilla. Located in El Molar and part of the D.O. Montsant, the winery's philosophy focuses on working with the best vineyards in the region, predominantly indigenous. The technical direction of the winery is led by Nuria López Sarroca.
