The rich nuances of Manzanilla La Gitana en Rama reveal the pure essence of the masterfully crafted pasada-style manzanilla. With this unfortified wine, neither stabilized nor filtered beforehand, Bodegas Hidalgo brings us the unparalleled experience of tasting directly from the cask.
Fresh, light, creamy, and delicate, Manzanilla La Gitana en Rama is the most authentic expression of this renowned fortified wine from the D.O. Jerez-Xérès-Sherry and Manzanilla - Sanlúcar de Barrameda.

Bodegas Hidalgo crafted this magnificent manzanilla from the must of meticulously selected palomino fino grapes. The century-old winery, based in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, has access to the finest raw materials for the creation of its wines. Their origin lies in the estate's own vineyards, planted on the white albariza soils of the Balbiana and Miraflores pagos, two of the terroirs considered among the best in the entire Jerez region.

Manzanilla La Gitana en Rama underwent its biological aging under flor for 8 years in 150-year-old American oak casks. It was bottled without prior cold stabilization or filtration, to preserve its purity to the fullest. Serve it chilled to accompany all kinds of tapas, fish (especially smoked), seafood, white meats, and salads.

The winery

The uniqueness of Spanish biologically aged wines is appreciated and admired worldwide. La Gitana is a clear example of winemaking tradition and contemporary flavors that continue to thrive, captivating and delighting enthusiasts. Bodegas Hidalgo-La Gitana boasts being one of the oldest wineries in the Jerez region. At the beginning of the 18th century, the pioneer of the lineage that would become one of the most important winemaking families in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, the Hidalgos, set foot in these lands. Since 1972, the family has been dedicated to the production of manzanilla, earning a well-deserved reputation as quality producers by the early 19th century. Since then, the winemaking method has not changed: grapes from their own vineyard, artisanal harvests, vinification through the solera and criaderas system, and manual rackings.
