Izadi El Regalo 2020 is the most special wine from Bodegas Izadi. Born from the homonymous estate (5 hectares, planted in 1930, located on a hillside in Villabuena de Álava, in one of the best areas of the D.O.Ca.), this red wine dominated by tempranillo (90%) is a true delight for the senses. A marvel of concentration, complexity, and elegance.

Izadi El Regalo 2020 is a magnificent gift for lovers of Rioja wines. The old vines of tempranillo, garnacha, graciano, and mazuelo planted in the clay-limestone and pebble soils of Finca El Regalo give rise to this Reserva which, once blended, spent 20 months aging in French and American oak barrels.
Izadi is one of the wineries that are part of the prestigious Grupo Artevino, which also includes Orben (also in Rioja), Finca Villacreces (Ribera del Duero), and Bodegas Vetus (Toro). Founded in 1987, in Villanueva de Álava, one of the three localities that form the so-called 'golden triangle' of Rioja Alavesa, the company bases its principles on using the highest quality grapes, respecting tradition and the vineyard, and a strong connection with gastronomy that ensures its wines boast an attractive, elegant, and balanced style, much appreciated by both the public and critics. This is the case with this Izadi El Regalo 2020 that we propose to you.
Intense ruby color and stained tears.
Nose of great complexity with predominant aromas of black and red fruits well blended with notes of fine woods and smokiness from aging.
On the palate, it is flavorful, velvety, and with a structured passage. Elegant long and persistent finish.
Founded in 1987 by Gonzalo Antón, Izadi belongs to the second wave of wineries that, in the 1990s, placed Rioja at the forefront of modernity, with a philosophy that prioritizes viticulture, terroir, and vineyard care: the grape as the foundation and main protagonist.
Located in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, within the triangle formed by Villabuena, Lapuebla, and Samaniego, Izadi produces wines praised by international critics. It has 187 hectares of vineyards (70 of them owned), distributed across small plots, each with its own unique characteristics and subject to meticulous monitoring. These are old vineyards with high-quality production and low yields. Following this, the winemaking process is based on grape selection and careful, measured aging in barrels from the most renowned oak forests and cooperages.
Izadi was the original winery of the Grupo Artevino, now led by Lalo Antón, son of Gonzalo.
