Regal as its name, named in honor of María Cristina of Habsburg-Lorraine, wife of Alfonso XII, Cristina Oloroso Medium is a slightly sweet Sherry wine, aged for 7 years in American oak barrels. Essential for lovers of this type of creation.
The exceptional quality and finesse of Cristina Oloroso Medium earned it the Grand Gold at the Mundus Vini 2019 competition, an award that rightfully distinguished it as the best sherry of the edition. The renowned Andalusian winery González Byass thus adds another accolade to a long list, thanks to this magnificent medium-dry oloroso dominated by palomino fino and completed with a touch of Pedro Ximénez.
The two varieties that make up Cristina Oloroso Medium were vinified separately and subjected to an initial oxidative aging (in contact with air) in different soleras. Then, after the final blend was made, it moved to the Cristina solera where it aged for 7 years following the traditional Andalusian system. After this period, the American oak casks revealed a wine from the D.O. Jerez-Xérès-Sherry with clean aromas and a sweet palate, perfect for enjoying on its own or paired with cheeses and pâtés. A necessary reference for any lover of the wines from the Marco.
