Encruzado

The encruzado is, in the opinion of many experts and critics, one of the best white grapes of Portugal. Mainly cultivated in the granitic hills of Dão, this white grape produces rich and full-bodied wines with fruity and floral aromas.

It is an early-budding grape with a significant level of sugar and natural acidity, which responds well to winemaking processes involving lees contact and barrel aging, adding complexity to the wines along with a smooth creaminess and caramel aromas.
