Bodegas La Celestina, linked to the prestigious Dominio de Atauta, blends old vines from the areas in Soria and Burgos within Ribera del Duero to produce La Celestina Crianza 2021 (92 points Parker). An excellent vintage red that expresses the best qualities of Ribera del Duero Tempranillo.
La Celestina Crianza 2021 is a fantastic Tempranillo born from one of the best vintages of the 21st century in Ribera del Duero. It combines old vines and high‑altitude vines from the Soriana part of the D.O. Ribera del Duero, with vines from the Burgos area and is refined with 12 months ageing in French oak. A red with a very approachable and smooth palate, in which the notes of fresh fruit and a perfectly integrated wood stand out.
In 2004, the prestigious winery Dominio de Atauta launched another project under the name Atalayas de Golbán, later renamed Bodegas La Celestina. A firm based in Atauta (Soria), which works with the oenological team of Dominio de Atauta and cultivates vineyards in the Soriana area as well as in other towns in Burgos.
Bodegas La Celestina shares the philosophy with the parent house regarding the highest standards of quality and artisanal workmanship, which includes manual harvests, sorting table, and meticulous winemaking processes that seek to show the grape’s maximum potential.

Viticulture
What should a Crianza aim for to retain freshness and precision from the vineyard? La Celestina Crianza 2021 comes from Tempranillo grapes selected in vineyards across different areas of Ribera del Duero, with sandy soils in the Soriana part and clay soils in the Burgalesa, and with mid-aged vines in Soria. The harvest is carried out manually in 400 kg crates, followed by a selection table, destalking and maceration, with a zone-by-zone vinification that allows respecting the identity of each plot and preserving the fruit’s expression.
