Carmelo Rodero Crianza 2022 is made with Tinta del País (Tempranillo) grapes perfectly blended with Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) and has been aged for a minimum of 15 months in French oak barrels. Carmelo Rodero, son and grandson of winegrowers, is responsible for its production and one of the most important names in the D.O. Ribera del Duero. In 1990, after many years of selling his grapes to prestigious wineries such as Vega Sicilia, he built his first winery and began one of the most remarkable journeys in the history of Ribera del Duero.
Located in Pedrosa del Duero (Burgos), the evolution of Bodegas Rodero into one of the leading Spanish winemaking houses can only be understood by recognizing the slow but steady path the Rodero family has traced from their most treasured asset: their vineyard.
The exquisite care given to the grapes is also a priority. Each of the wines produced under the D.O. Ribera del Duero designation comes from a specific plot. The oenological treatment each grape receives depends on many factors such as the age of the vines, the type of soil, its orientation, and exposure. A meticulous process that also includes selecting the most suitable barrels for aging each wine. Carmelo Rodero Crianza 2022 pairs perfectly with lamb chops grilled over vine shoots or char-grilled beef steak.
Carmelo Rodero Crianza offers an elegant and complex nose, where the fruity notes of tempranillo (raspberry, blackberry) intertwine with delicate hints of toasted bread and spices from its time in barrel. On the palate, it is luscious and balanced, with a silky texture that fills the mouth. Its sweet and well-integrated tannins lead to a long and persistent finish, inviting you to enjoy every sip.
After many years of selling their grapes to prestigious wineries such as Vega Sicilia, Carmelo Rodero, the fourth generation of winegrowers from Pedrosa de Duero (Burgos), decided in 1990 to produce his own wines, founding Bodegas Rodero.
Bodegas Rodero has positioned itself as one of the most outstanding wineries in Ribera del Duero, thanks especially to the quality of its vineyards. The exquisite care given to the grapes is a top priority. Each of their wines comes from a specific plot and is crafted considering various factors, such as the age of the vines, the type of soil, its orientation, and exposure. This meticulous work also includes selecting the most suitable barrels for the aging of each wine. Carmelo Rodero's daughter, Beatriz, leads the winemaking direction.
