Suertes del Marqués

Suertes del Marqués

In the northern part of the island of Tenerife lies the Valle de la Orotava, a small denomination with barely 340 hectares of vineyards, a garden of native varieties used to produce wines that reach high prices in the market. Here is located the family winery Suertes del Marqués (2006), led by Jonatan García, who works with 11 hectares of their own vineyards and 17 more managed from local growers. Vineyards that respect the traditional cordón trenzado system (a unique training system in the world), situated at an altitude between 300 and 750 meters, with different orientations and on various soil types, especially volcanic soils.

The Suertes del Marqués winery is committed to respecting tradition, practicing low-intervention viticulture (using native yeasts, avoiding rackings, etc.), and focusing on native varieties (their vineyards are dominated by century-old vines of listán negro and listán blanco), a philosophy that allows them to achieve wines that reflect the terroir. Honest, fresh, and easy-to-drink wines, with oak always in the background, which have been very well received by the international critics and are featured in some of the best restaurants in the world. Currently, Suertes del Marqués produces 100,000 bottles per year. 70% of the winery's total production is destined for the international market.
