Raventós de Alella is a winery nestled among old vineyards and forests in the interior of the coastal mountain range that divides the small Denominación de Origen Alella. Founded in 1981, when the first vintage was produced, the philosophy of this winery, integrated into the Grupo Raventós Codorníu, is based on extracting the essence and maximum expression of the area's quintessential variety: pansa blanca (xarel·lo).
Alella is a region located 20 km from Barcelona, under two microclimates; one warmer, on the coast, and another cooler in the interior. It is characterized by nutrient-poor soil, with low water retention and moderate pH. This sandy and permeable soil texture, known as ‘sauló’, allows for the development of an extensive and deep root system in the vineyards, ensuring good tolerance to prolonged droughts.
Innovative and avant-garde, Raventós de Alella develops wines with an international vocation and in constant evolution, with the utmost respect for the raw material, the environment, and the identity of the production area.
