Château Mouton Rothschild is one of the five Premiers Grands Crus wineries of Bordeaux. Located in the northwest of the region, in the town of Pauillac, it was founded in 1853 when Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild purchased the estate at an auction with the aim of producing his own wine to entertain his friends and guests.
The winery has always been in the hands of members of the Rothschild family, and currently, it is managed by the children of the late Baroness Philippine de Rothschild—Camille, Philippe, and Julien—who have been at the helm since 2014.
Under their leadership, the impressive 90-hectare vineyard they own, primarily planted with cabernet sauvignon, the queen grape of Pauillac, continues to produce the elegant, powerful reds with rich tannins and excellent aging potential that have earned Château Mouton Rothschild its well-deserved global reputation.
