In the region of Aranjuez lies the estate that houses the winery and vineyards of one of the most important wine projects of the D.O. Vinos de Madrid: Bodegas El Regajal. An estate of high natural value, surrounded by hills and crossed by a stream, where esparto grass, broom, thyme, and olive trees share space with the vineyard: 14 hectares of vines of tempranillo, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and syrah, cultivated according to biodynamic principles to produce wines true to their terroir.
The winemaking process takes place in facilities built entirely underground to preserve the landscape, where each variety is vinified separately, and the wines age in French oak barrels. Currently, El Regajal produces a limited quantity of red wines Las Retamas, Galia, and El Regajal Selección Especial (94 points Sobremesa in its 2010 vintage).
