At Bodegas Olarra, our main interest lies in offering a wide variety of wines from the D.O.Ca. Rioja, ranging from young whites to grand reservas, with profiles that are rather classic or distinctly international.
Professional career
Born in San Sebastián (Guipúzcoa) in 1960, Javier Martínez de Salinas began his career at Agrovin products (Alcázar de San Juan, Ciudad Real) as Quality Control Manager. In 1989, he started working at El Coto de Rioja S.A. (Oyón, Alava) as Winemaker and Head of the Quality and Production Department. A decade later, in 1998, he joined Bodegas Olarra (Logroño, La Rioja) and Bodegas Ondarre (Viana, Navarra), serving as Technical Director. Currently, he is also the Technical Director of the Manchegan winery of the Bodegas Olarra group: Bodegas y Viñedos Casa del Valle.

Training
Graduated in Science (Biology) from the University of Navarra in Pamplona and Master in Viticulture and Enology from the Higher Technical School of Agricultural Engineers of the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
