Saint-Julien

Located right in the geographical center of Médoc, between Pauillac and Margaux, Saint-Julien is, with only 910 hectares, the smallest A.O.C. in this wine region situated on the left bank of Bordeaux.

Despite its small size, Saint-Julien boasts a total of 11 Grands Crus within the 1855 Bordeaux Wine Classification, a number that represents 80% of the A.O.C. Among them are famous châteaux such as Léoville Las Cases, Beychevelle, Talbot, and Ducru-Beaucaillou. The reds of Saint-Julien are the expression of a truly exceptional terroir, characterized by predominantly gravelly soils, producing wines with great aging potential, harmonious, refined, yet powerful.
Climate
The climate is, as in the rest of Médoc, mild and gentle, thanks to the proximity of the Gironde estuary. This influence results in an increase in the lower temperatures and a slight decrease in the higher ones, thus promoting an early ripening cycle.
Soil
Just like in the neighboring appellation of Pauillac, the vineyards of Saint-Julien are situated on soils with fantastic characteristics for vine cultivation, standing out for their composition mainly of gravel, pebbles, and marl.
