Viña AB Amontillado is a very young amontillado from González Byass that has undergone two types of aging, biological and oxidative, adding up to a minimum aging of 8 years in American oak barrels. Excellent as an aperitif.

The centenary winery González Byass demonstrates its absolute mastery of each and every traditional elaboration of the Jerez region with Viña AB Amontillado, a generous wine with a sharp aroma and a smooth, full palate, whose main distinctive quality is elegance.
The palomino fino grape stars solo in this Viña AB Amontillado, to which the time spent under the flor veil added almond notes typical of the varietal. The subsequent oxidative aging for a minimum of 8 years in American oak barrels, following the traditional solera system, also added rich aromatic nuances of wood and aromatic herbs and a pleasant and balanced mouthfeel. Enjoy it well chilled, at around 8 or 9 ºC, alongside a wide variety of dishes such as grilled vegetables, hearty soups, tuna, rockfish, and good cheeses and cold cuts.

On the nose, it is subtle and delicate, with predominant almond aromas, characteristic of palomino fino, and yeast, resulting from its time under the veil flor. These notes are accompanied by others of wood, aromatic herbs, and vegetables.
On the palate, it is pleasant and has a balanced acidity. It has a prolonged aftertaste in which hints of nuts and wine-soaked wood are present.

The winery
In 1835, the entrepreneur Manuel María González Angel arrived in Jerez with the intention of doing business with the growing demand for Sherry from England. He acquired a small winery that, by 1955, was overwhelmed by its success. Manuel María González partnered with his agent in England, Mr. Robert Blake Byass, thus founding the company González-Byassz. Today, it is the fifth generation of the González family who lead this family heritage business.
Currently, the González Byass group is made up of a wide range of wineries producing in the most emblematic and important denominations of origin in Spain (with Beronia in the D.O.Ca. Rioja; Viñas del Vero in the D.O. Somontano; Vilarnau in Catalonia; Finca Constancia in Toledo, Finca Moncloa in Cádiz, Pazos de Lusco in the D.O.
