General Information
This collection brings together three red wines that represent the richness of three very different territories: Somontano, Yecla, and La Mancha. Each contributes its own accent, climate, history, and way of interpreting the vine. The result is an exciting journey through the authenticity of three denominations that have succeeded in consolidating their prestige with wines full of character. A collection designed for those who enjoy discovering new expressions and value the uniqueness of each landscape.
Viñas del Vero Reserva Especial 2022 originates from the extensive vineyard area managed by the winery in the Somontano region, where altitude and limestone soils allow for the production of well-balanced reds. This wine combines cabernet sauvignon and merlot, varieties that the house has successfully established in the area. Its 14-month aging in new barrels – with 80% French oak – adds complexity, spicy notes, and a structure that elegantly supports the fruit. It is an exclusive creation for Vinoselección, reflecting the winery’s ability to develop unique projects within its long history.
Secondly, from the Campo Arriba zone, Castaño Colección Cepas Viejas 2020 is a red wine that comes from vines over 30 years old, located at 750 metres altitude, in poor and rocky soils that challenge the plant to produce its best. Its blend combines monastrell (70%) and cabernet sauvignon (30%), varieties that express concentration, maturity, and a strong Mediterranean identity here. After careful vinification and 10 months of aging in barrels – mostly French – the wine reveals notes of cocoa, spices, and ripe fruit, with the depth imparted by old vines. An expressive red that celebrates the personality of Yecla and the work of a family who has made monastrell their emblem.
Finally, at the heart of La Mancha, El Vínculo Reserva 2022 is made from old tempranillo vineyards grown under rainfed conditions, selected for their ability to produce highly concentrated grapes. Its 24-month aging in oak barrels provides structure, complexity, and a character that reflects the philosophy of the Fernández Rivera family: absolute respect for the raw material and an approach to winemaking focused on excellence. This wine demonstrates the elegance that tempranillo can achieve in La Mancha and confirms the prestige of a winery that has successfully translated its experience into a territory full of potential.
