General Information

El Vínculo Reserva 2022 originates from carefully selected old vineyards in the province of Ciudad Real, right in the heart of La Mancha. These are old, dry-farmed Tempranillo vines. The wine is refined through a maturation of 24 months in oak barrels.

Bodegas El Vínculo, owned by the Fernández Rivera family and based in Ciudad Real, is responsible for El Vínculo Reserva 2022. The winery has established a distinguished reputation in La Mancha, and its wines have been nicknamed “El Pesquera manchego” for their character and quality. The family’s tradition and meticulous care in the vineyard and winery are reflected in this wine, which embodies the house’s philosophy: respect for the raw material, rigorous selection, and craftsmanship aimed at excellence.

The red wine El Vínculo Reserva 2022 pairs very well with dishes such as grilled sirloin steak or Toledo-style partridge.

Tasting notes

Visual: Deep red colour with cherry-pie hues and a tear that indicates good structure following its prolonged ageing.

Nose: Complex aromas where ripe red and black fruit from the Tempranillo intertwine with well-integrated notes of wood – vanilla, toasted spices, and hints of balsamic.

Palate: On the palate, it shows maturity and smoothness, rounded tannins, good structure, and a persistent finish that reflects its 24 months of barrel ageing.

The winery

El Vínculo

Familia Fernández Rivera is one of the most renowned national winemaking groups. After placing their Tinto Pesquera at the pinnacle of the global wine atlas, they decided to embark on new projects across different Spanish regions with a common protagonist: the tempranillo variety, which they master so well. The latest of these projects is located in Campo de Criptana (Ciudad Real) and was born at the end of the last century under the name of El Vínculo.

In 1999, the family found perfectly acclimated tempranillo vineyards in these lands of Don Quixote and committed to producing great Manchego red wines with them. El Vínculo is the only winery in the group that does not focus exclusively on tempranillo. Its vineyards also include the white airén grape, native to the region, with which they craft one of the best national white wines: Alejairén.
