Rosé Collection – Christmas 2024
Christmas is a time to enjoy being with your family and friends and calls for eating and drinking more and better than usual. We had the upcoming celebrations in mind when we put together this selection of three rosés that are elegant and versatile – that is, great for pairing with food – which will go wonderfully with your meals, from aperitifs through to after-dinner conversations. And they also make a delicious choice if you simply fancy enjoying a glass of something. Don't miss out!
Bodegas Valdemar is a family business whose origins date back to the nineteenth century and is now run by the fifth generation. Conde Valdemar is its most renowned label and a leading name in Rioja. The rosé version combines the red Garnacha and white Viura grape varieties. The result is a wine that follows in the footsteps of the pale, subtle rosés with markedly floral notes, in this case combined with hints of red berries and oodles of freshness. Conde Valdemar Rosé 2023 has already won a gold medal at Berliner Trophy 2024 and a silver at Mundus Vini 2024.
Viña Aljibes Rosé 2023 is one of the most interesting rosés produced in Spain from the French variety Syrah, the unquestionable star of the northern Rhône area. It comes from the impressive estate the wine is named after in Chinchilla de Montearagón (Albacete), located on a plain at an altitude of 1,000 metres, and is notable for its intense aromas of strawberries, dairy hints and cut grass. Powerful palate, with good structure and length.
Lastly, we take you to Cigales, Spain’s rosé wine region par excellence. This area is home to Traslanzas Rosado 2023, a combination of Tempranillo and white Albillo grapes (15%) with predominant flavours of fresh red fruit together with minty and floral aromas, with structure and good length on the palate.
