General Information

Raimat Brut Nature Chardonnay-Xarel·lo Ecológico is a sparkling wine made from a well-balanced blend of chardonnay and xarel·lo varieties sourced from their own vineyards in different plots, which are harvested separately and vinified individually. This is done because each batch of base wine that will form the final blend requires different treatments during fermentations. Thus, when the cava ages for about a year, the disgorging process is carried out to remove the yeasts that have formed during the bubble formation.

This Raimat Brut Nature Chardonnay-Xarel·lo Ecológico is one of the extraordinary works that Raimat has accomplished in the D.O. Cava. This firm, the oldest in the area, was founded in 1914 when Manuel Raventós acquired land in the province of Lleida. Currently, the winery produces wines and cavas of exceptional quality thanks to sustainable viticulture, minimizing the use of agrochemical products and thus respecting the natural environment.

The climate and soils of the vineyards at Raimat estate, in the D.O. Cava, contribute to the production of this sensational blend and are the essential essence of a Brut Nature cava that is ideal to accompany appetizers and seafood, such as steamed mussels, oysters, clams, shrimp, tuna, or fresh salmon. It is also perfect for dishes like roast beef, white meats, and fruit or pasta salads.

Tasting notes

Thanks to the chardonnay grape, the fine bubbles can be observed in the glass, creating a soft and recognizable white foam.

With a clean nose, aromas of ripe spring fruits, peach, along with citrus notes, appear.

On the palate, the vitality of this cava is appreciated, softened by its pleasant body.

The winery

Raimat

When Manuel Raventós acquired the barren lands of the Raimat estate in 1914, in a desert-like area of Lleida, almost bordering the Los Monegros desert, few believed he was in his right mind. Almost 90 years later, Raimat is a thriving estate with 2,100 hectares dedicated to vineyard cultivation, still in the hands of the Raventós family, owners of the Grupo Codorníu.

The first Raimat winery dates back to 1918 and was designed by the eminent modernist architect Rubió i Bellver. A subsequent expansion in 1988, carried out in line with the latest trends in ecological architecture and landscape integration, gave the winery its definitive appearance. Raimat was one of the first brands to cultivate foreign varieties almost unknown in Spain at the time and to adopt trellis training, leaving behind the classic and traditional bush vine.
